We had been given the task from an existing customer in Aldershot to find ideas for energy saving solutions to their aging setup of two HPC Airtower 26 units, we installed an energy logger to the units to identify the reliability and true effiency of the compressors during a typical working fortnight.
This information was then processed and some massive savings to be had given the following:
- Future expansion plans within the next 3 years.
- Cost per kilowatt hour.
- Ongoing maintenance costs.
We found their working hours to change given what shift patterns were in operation, some air demand being higher than others day to day and on occassion near nothing at all at times. This prompted us to recommend a VSD (Variable Speed Drive) compressor. The savings caluculated would pay for the whole installation in less than 2.5 Years!
After receiving the order we committed to two Power System Noble 18.5-08 PM Floor Standing compressors with a whopping 123.6 CFM @ 8 Bar (116 psi). These arrived very quickly from FPS Compressors.
We then within three days of arriving turned around the installation & commissioning, all at the same time keeping production going. The customer also requested the commpressors to automatically change over as to share the load and servicing hours. Both units have the new Login Air Compressor control board fitted, after setting up the weekely running schedual these compressors will now run the site efficiantly without fail all the while future proofing the customer for years ahead.
